Cave Escape Post #20

Hello!!
Well 3rd quarter has finally ended! Yay!
Anyways, I actually got some stuff completed. Not a lot, but still some. I completed 2 extra stages. Boom. It's a miracle. I know your all pro lay reading this thinking, what's so great about creating 2 stages. Well, let me say-it's amazing. For not having any clue what I wanted this project to turn out as, and then creating 2 stages, is a HUGE accomplishment for me. It's feels like I just ran a marathon, and actually won it.

I also was able to complete something else. I was able to get Mack to get to complete the actual actions I wanted him to do. This is also a HUGE accomplishment for me.

So I guess you can say that I am making good progress for delayed video game.

Cave Escape Post #19

Hello Everyone!

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted! This last week I didn't  have anytime at all to do anything due to my insane schedule. But the week before that I did! I can say that I am very happy to say that both of the characters have their controls laid out.  The girl with be the controls a,s,d,w. They guy controls will be up, down, right, and left. Pretty simple.

I also have a couple of stages planned out. They are just gonna be going through doors to pass stages. Simple, but there're going to be challenging levels. Other than that, I don't have anything else to report.

Cave Escape Post #18

Hello everyone!
This week I really didn't really get a lot done for my 20 time project. My grandfather is in the hospital after having another heart attack, so I was there for every free moment I really had. I'm going to catch up for this weeks loss next week, and the future weeks ahead.

Cave Escape Post #17

Hello everyone!!!
This week, my teacher Mr. Provenzano asked us to write about what we would change about 20 time, and what we think of it.

So far, I LOVE 20 time, and the whole idea of it. But, I really really wish I chose a different idea for my project. Now that I'm actually working on it a lot, I realize that I'm really making no progress,  and I hate it. Instead of creating a video game, I wish I created an entertainment site. It would include personal and professional reviews about video games, t.v. shows, and especially movies. Since I'm a huge gamer and movie buff, I think that it would work out a lot better than my current 20 time-creating a video game.

What I liked most about 20 time was how students are able to express themselves freely through a project. It's a very fun to know that even if you mess up on the project and its a total fail (like mine), you don't get a failing grade. What I liked least about 2 time, was how we (students), weren't really given a lot of time to REALLY choose what we wanted to do for our project. I really wish that we did the Transcendentalism until before we chose our project. After the transcendentalism until, a lot of us students felt that we could express ourselves freely without being judged by anyone. But, other than that, I'm ecstatic about the whole idea and projects.

Cave Escape Post #16

Hello everyone!!!
I got a lot done this week luckily.
I was able to create a new stage and draw out the girl character to be with Mack. I was able to make The character, but unable to make her move because I can't have the same controls for her as I do for Mack. This is challenging because I don't know what I want her controls to be. I think I'm going to have to play some 2 player games in order to figure it out.

Also, during this past week I was able to create a new sort of story line. It's just gonna be get to a certain door to continue to the next level. There is going to be a total of I think about 10-12 stages, I'm not sure yet. I'm very excited to make the new stages, but it's going to be challenging to make a different stage that hard. Most games for computers are easy, so people like it. I'm open to any suggestions so please leave them in the comments.

Lastly, I am going to change the name of the game. I don't know what I'm going to change the name to, but I am. I've been talking to many people about what I should change it to, but nothing has really hit home.

Cave Escape Post #15

Hello everyone!!!
So in order to make up on the time I missed from my last game getting deleted, I was able to get the controls planned out for both Mack and Maddie (the characters of the new game). I honestly don't know what I want my theme to be now. Originally, I thought I wanted to make it a cave theme, but I honestly was getting bored making it on my first game. So I might just change it up and wing it with the theme. For example, I might base the game of a shipwreck, or someone on a deserted island, etc. There are so many ideas that are running through my head, it's hard to pick just one.

As well as that, I think I also want to make Maddie the main character and Mack a secondary one. Since most games evolve around a male character, I want to make a game that's different than the rest. However, most people who play video games are males, so they might not like playing a female character game. It's very stressful since I don't even know what I'm going to do for this game. I really have to think about every decision I'm making, so this game doesn't become a living hell like the previous one.

Anyways, other than that, I don't have any other things incorporated with the game going on.

Cave Escape Post #14

Hello Everyone!

Let me start off by saying, that these past 2-3 weeks have been nothing but stressful. Last week I didn't have a chance at all to even work on my project due to frantic and endless studying for finals. I did however work on my project and create a second project of the 2 player game, it's in its rough draft stage but I'll add more to it later. Let me also add, that with that stress and endless studying, comes a time of GREAT GREAT sorrow.

My whole project and everything I worked on in the past months is gone. Now, you're probably thinking "What happened! What do you mean it's gone?". Since I didn't have a chance to work on my project for two weeks or so, one of my family members somehow moved the file (where my project was located in), into a different file. The other file got sent to the recycle bin and deleted. The only other part of my project that I have is the version I created with the two characters (explained a little above). Since all my hard work for months disappeared, never to be seen again, one could guess how my reaction to this "surprising news", could be. But shockingly, after several hours after discovering the horrid surprise, I realized I actually hated where my project was going to probably turn out. I really couldn't do anything "fun" with the storyline I had created.

So, I've decided to just make the two character game, but this time, save it on a flash drive that I only use and always have with me. I now have to work harder than I have in the past, to even try to make up for the time and project I lost. Wish me the best of luck!
