Cave Escape Post #24

Hi Everyone!

So, My teacher Mr. P. asked me to do a response of my opinion of the project this year. Here we go!

1. Overall, what is your opinion of 20 Time based on YOUR experience in class?
I liked 20 time I just wish that it wasn't THAT big as a failure.

2. What are some aspects of 20 Time that you think should be adjusted for students next year?
I think that the students should have more time to pick their projects, or at least have them after the transcendentalism unit.

3. What are some aspects of 20 Time that should NOT be changed for students next year?
When the project is due, when blog posts are due: every OTHER weekend. So basically the time line of when things are due should stay the same.

4. Is 20 Time something that more students should do in school? Please explain why or why not.
Yes, because it gives students the chance to express themselves in a unique way.

5. What advice would you give to students who are doing 20 Time next year?
Don't pick a project because you know you can do i. Step out of your comfort zone and pick a project you might fail at.

Thanks for a great year everyone! I appreciated all of your support. Have a great summer. Bye.

Cave Escape Post #23

Hey Everyone!
So, since he school year is almost done and the 20 time presentations are happening this week. That's what I'm going to be talking about.

My presentation is about failure. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to hear someone talk about failure for about 10 minutes or less without any examples, or stories that make you think "Hmm, I really didn't do so bad on (whatever it may be), and (so-and-so) did a lot worse.
Now, failure is a very broad term. But, it can apply to everything. Like for example it can apply to school, work, family, friendships, etc. So why is everyone afraid of it. And how come when a individual does fail- they should feel bad about it. I mean, not all failure is bad. If Thomas Edison didn't fail 10,000 when he was creating the light bulb, he would of never of found the correct way to light up life (literally).

So, now that I have your attention. Above, is some of the things that I'll be discussing in my presentation. However, even though I may be typing this with no problem, realistically- I'm quaking in my boots. I am beyond nervous. But why? Is it because I may fail, get and E and have to go to community college because of my GPA. That's about 70% of it... or is it because I am afraid to look foolish in front of my peers... That's also a big reason.

My point is about this, is that just because you may fail in something in life. IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. All you really need to do is take a leap of faith.

Cave Escape Post #22

Hello everyone!!!
So, because in so close to the end of this year, and I have to give a talk/speech about my project, that's what I'm mainly focusing on. Like I stated earlier on my previous blog posts, I already have my subject planned for my talk. Stated below is what I think I want my opener (as I call it), to be.

Failure is an option:
I have failed. Like big time. But it's okay.
I have learned from my mistakes, and am glad I chose this project. It's taught me what I want to do when it comes to video games, and I can say. It's just playing them, not making them.

I know I need some improvement, because nobody is perfect. But so far I thinking a have a good start. I think that because I'm a teen, people will listen more since I'm in their age group, and also because adults know that we are the future of America, and they need to know where our mind sets. Just saying. If many one has any advice for me, please leave them in the comments. I value everyone opinion.

Cave Escape Post #21

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a splendid Easter!

These past weeks have been very stressful, and also very relaxing at the same time. The week before Spring break was a make it or break it week. But, it was soon followed by a unforgettable week that made me completely forget about anything involving work, and I finally survived a week care stress free. Yay!

Well, since my project  has become a bust. I'm still trying to improve it as much as I can, but nothing is getting better. The characters don't follow the rules I give them. The scenes keep switching on their own to a Caribbean background, or a space theme background. The worst part is that it glitches a lot. The game glitches about 60% of the time I use it.

Anyways, I've decided to focus most of my attention to the talk I will have to do at the end of semester.

I have narrowed down what I will be talking about though. I'll be talking about how failure is an option, and because something bad happens to something you work hard on- IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. I think that this is a good subject to talk upon, because me generation of kids today make everything a big deal, and act like their life is over. Realistically, we worry so much that we forget to enjoy simply moment that happen in our lives.

Cave Escape Post #20

Well 3rd quarter has finally ended! Yay!
Anyways, I actually got some stuff completed. Not a lot, but still some. I completed 2 extra stages. Boom. It's a miracle. I know your all pro lay reading this thinking, what's so great about creating 2 stages. Well, let me say-it's amazing. For not having any clue what I wanted this project to turn out as, and then creating 2 stages, is a HUGE accomplishment for me. It's feels like I just ran a marathon, and actually won it.

I also was able to complete something else. I was able to get Mack to get to complete the actual actions I wanted him to do. This is also a HUGE accomplishment for me.

So I guess you can say that I am making good progress for delayed video game.

Cave Escape Post #19

Hello Everyone!

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted! This last week I didn't  have anytime at all to do anything due to my insane schedule. But the week before that I did! I can say that I am very happy to say that both of the characters have their controls laid out.  The girl with be the controls a,s,d,w. They guy controls will be up, down, right, and left. Pretty simple.

I also have a couple of stages planned out. They are just gonna be going through doors to pass stages. Simple, but there're going to be challenging levels. Other than that, I don't have anything else to report.

Cave Escape Post #18

Hello everyone!
This week I really didn't really get a lot done for my 20 time project. My grandfather is in the hospital after having another heart attack, so I was there for every free moment I really had. I'm going to catch up for this weeks loss next week, and the future weeks ahead.
